Fancom promotes agricultural sector to youth

On 14 November Fancom participated in the Kick-Off of the Global Entrepreneurship Week in Eindhoven, which goal it is to make youth acquainted with entrepreneurship, in the widest sense of the word.

The Kick-Off was visited by 1.200 enthusiastic youngsters from 15 up to and including 35 years.  Fancom was present to show the innovative and entrepreneurial character of the company, but also of the sector in general. The intensive livestock sector is an innovative sector, which we would like to show the youth!

The demo version of our eYeNamic behaviour monitor with real chicks drew a lot of attention. This gave us the opportunity to talk about the high tech level of the current poultry and pig houses. The students were surprised to learn that so much is automated and that the romantic farmer of ‘farmer wants a wife’ (Dutch tv show) is someone on TV and that in real life things can go quite differently. This lead to a lot of positive reactions. Whether or not it will result immediately in new enthusiastic employees for Fancom remains difficult to predict, but we for sure succeeded in making young people enthusiastic about the agricultural sector!
